About THE SWEX

THE SWEX is an initiative of Scotch Whisky Investments (SWI), launched in 2002 and is one of the largest whisky investment companies in the world. In addition to 110,000 bottles, SWI also manages 2,800 casks of whisky in Scotland with a total value of around €300 million. SWI was born out of a passion for Scotch single malt whisky. With our years of expertise, strong buying position with Scottish distilleries and sharp vision for the future, we guide hundreds of investors in whisky as an asset manager.

To make whisky trading easier and accessible to a wider group of investors, in 2007 we introduced an investment platform for Scotch single malt whisky: The World Whisky Index. In recent years, this platform has evolved into THE SWEX, a full-fledged investment platform for the serious alternative investor. As operator of THE SWEX, SWI must comply with the rules of the Financial Supervision Act (WfT) and the Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Act (Wwft).
